NJIT Wireless Network Site ID Changes

The NJIT Wireless Site ID (SSID) will be changing as of January 14, 2005. A Site ID or SSID is used to identify a wireless network to a wireless device. The new Site ID will be:

The initials NJIT all in lower case. The Site ID is provided to you automatically by the NJIT Wireless Network. Depending on the type of wireless client you have and the configuration of your wireless connection, you may be asked to verify that you want to connect new wireless network Site ID.

You may have to search for, or discover, the new Wireless Network Site ID if you have the automatic discovery of wireless network disabled on your system. You may wish to add the new Site ID as an automatic prefered network.

To manually select the new Site ID in XP:

The old NJIT Site ID of "12345" will continue to be supported thoughout the Spring 2005 Semester. However, we recommend that you delete this Site ID from your list of Preferred Networks.
